The Zulu tribe, like many tribes of Africa, preform special rituals for occasions. The Zulu People would have preformed rituals for occasions such as birth, death, coming of age, marriage, special visitors and more. One of the more common and important rituals was the First Fruit Ritual. In this ritual all the people of the tribe would bring the leader of the tribe bowls of fruit, grain, and other food harvested. The king would be first served the food and the he would announce to the tribe a blessing for the food that had just been harvested and then everybody would feast. This ritual would be preformed after the harvest to bless the food and to bless the next harvest. This ritual would have been preformed multiple times a year because of the short growing season of millet the Zulu Tribes main crop.
